How to export data from MS access to Mysql?

Hello,

Could anyone help exporting data from MS access to Mysql?

I download and installed myODBC driver version 2.50 for older version of mySQL I am using right now (may be 3.23.54).

I created system and File DSN "mytest"

In MS Acess, after I opened my table and file/export. I choosed ODBC database, But I got error:
can't connect to mysql server on myservername (10054)

What happened?

you have to create a System DSN and there you need to put in 4 values
hostname/server name(or IP)
database name
user
password

if you are not able to connect this means that you have entered one of this values wrong. make sure you have set up an account for this host/database/user/pwd combination in mysql.

is the mysql db on your local machine or on a remote server

I checked all the 4 information for System DSN. Everything are correct. I can connect to the same database through linux command. The database is on remote server.

Make sure your host allows remote access to mysql server. In some cases, you can enable remote access from the control panel of your website. Best thing is to ask your host.
