Opening new window

How can I create new window, open it and make it active (If I can say that). I mean: I want all php instructions, which follow opening new window, to make effects in this window.

Yes, I need something more javascript-open()-like where you can define parameters of new window and it dont close the old one.

I just want to display in this new window picture which is email attachment after somebody click on "Your attatchment" link.
