How do i change a value in the DB when..

How do i do to change a value in DB when i click a link and at the same time follow the link to the linked page.

I need to make it so you can come from different pages to a page, and depending on what page you comes from a value should be changed in DB.

Page1--Page2--Page3
... |
Page4

On Page1 theres two links;
One that links to Page2 and one that links to Page4.
If you click the Page2 link a value in the DB should be decreased with 3.
But if you click the Page4 link a value in the DB should be decreased with 7 ..

How do i do?!

you could have a form on page one... and option one in the form is the variable for the code for page 2 and the second option the variable is the code for page 4... submit the form to a page where you use the 'if' and 'else' statements for the two variables and then use the 'header' code to relocate to page 2 or 4...
