E.g.
Signup process
Username and password have to be a certain length and have certain characteristics
Store with MD5 in database
Send E-Mail to confirm email address validity
Activate account with link from email
Login process
Enter username / pass and MD5 them and compare to the database...
Simple and fairly secure... I take it this isn't for the login to Fort Knox ??
