Well, I tell you, I have been might tempted to become a music pirate these days, but I haven't done it yet.
I know this is off topic, but it really chaps my ass that
a) CD prices are through the roof for garbage
b) the music companies are pushing copy protection schemes that won't even let me make personal copies for my own use. Whatever happened to the "fair use" doctrine.
The reality is that I listen to a lot of commercial free internet radio, and I am planning on hooking up with XM radio. While I would like to have a music library, the reality is there is much more available than I would ever have time to copy.
I will say this... you would never find me turning in someone for music theft... and if the licensing requirements and intrusiveness of installation software gets any worse, I may change my mind there as well.
I used to be solidly in the commercial software camp, but, to modify that old saying, while I am trying to play fair ball with them, they are trying to shove the bat up my ass. I don't like it. Open source, if nothing else, keeps the stinking bums from snooping into things that don't concern them.
