I am going to try linux/unix for php...on my own desktop...shall I redefine the disk (currently I have windows 98 Chinese and winxp on c: and d: drive) and rearrange space for linux? Any guy can give a tip where to start...I know little abt linux.

By the way, is there any free public space (or resouce) of UNix platform
that I can upload my code and install appache server, php to test my code...

of course, linux needs its own partition to run. You can use partition magic, nparted or any other partitioning program if you don't want to lose data in your current disks.
