I got burned once, hard disk crash and no back ups. And I swore NEVER AGAIN. But they aren't making it easy!
What are the best options for a back up system? I have XP Pro running on a Pentium 4 2.8ghz with 512MB of Ram. I have an 80GB hard drive and a 52X Lite-on CDRW Burner. I also have Nero Burning software.
I want to be able to have a total backup of EVERYTHING. And a routine of picking up any modified files regularly so I don't get caught in a crash. I want to be able to restore a single file if that is all I need. I want it reliable, and oh yeah, how about FREE!
I was using ZipBackup to CD but I am now having trouble with this getting it to write to multiple CDs. When I look for other utilities, most want some $$ and I have to ask myself, would it be a better buy to just install another 80GB hard drive and do bakcups to that? Obviously if the house burned down the Geek Gods would have me, but the most probable disaster is a hard drive failure, in which case I would be good.
Would sure like some suggestions on this.
Best regards,
