size limit for php file upload? higher then 102kb gives 403 forbiden

Is there a limit to the size of files that can be uploaded, useing the same php script I can sucessfuly upload both gif and jpeg files of these sizes

3kb jpg, 35kb jpg, 62kb jpg, 83kb gif, 91kb jpg, 102kb, gif

all work fine but when I try to upload a 203kb gif file I get a server responce 403 forbiden, trying a cobination of jpeg and gif images between 91kb and 102kb work fine as well as the above sizes all work fine. But 203kb gives 403. Tryed other files between 102kb and 202kb and they all give 403 forbiden

I have full permsisions, to all directorys.

Can someone advise on on what could be the problem, I think my script is ok because 91kb uploads fine.

In php.ini there is a max upload setting.

Check that - or check with your hosting company perhaps.

Its normally set to around 2-5Mb so would be unusual to not allow uploads over 100k.

Ok I checked my php.ini

upload_max_size=2M
file_uploads=On
post_max_size=8M
safe_mode=Off

Notced safe mode was on so I turned it off and same problem, however something very strange, If I use proxomitron and open the log window with view post data, and I upload the 203kb gif im fine, I get a server 200 OK responce, but when I close the log window, and upload the same file is when I get a error 403 forbiden from the server.

Could this be a server problem? Noticed that with the proxomitron log window on things are sent slower then they would if the log window is closed, and its only when the log window is closed that I get the forbiden 403.

Ideas?

Grab another upload scipt off the web or from in here and see if you have same problems. Good to eliminate that it isnt your script.

Same problem, Error 403 forbiden server responce, the instructions inside this particular upload script.

Thats the path im saveing too, I examined his script and very simular to mine, but same problem error 403 forbidden when I upload the 203kb gif.

Update

Just ocured to me to try another browser.....

Seems now it is a Internet Explorer problem, I have been useing Crazy Broswer which is IE based. Here is what I just tryed:

Tryed the following browsers:

Opera (Works)
Phoenix (Works)
Mozilla (Works)
K-Meleon Gives error 403 forbiden, its a IE based browser
Crazy Browser, 403 forbiden, browser I had been useing

Cannot try Netscape because the current version requires atleast 64MB RAM and I only have 32MB.

So seems now it a Internet Explorer problem since Crazy Browser, MyIE, Avant Browser and K-Meloen are all IE based

But im not about to switch browsers. 🙁
