Mssql

I have installed RedHat 9 with Apache 2.x, php 4.22, Mysql 3.23.5x, and now have to connect to a MS SQL server...I have also installed freetds. I made all of my installs via rpms...most were during the installation of RedHat...freetds was later via the rpm that was available.

So what else do I need to do to be able to connect to the mssql database with php? Is there another php module that needs to be installed?

Hopefully someone won't say recompile php...but I bet they do anyway. Be creative...see if we can keep from having to do that.

I have tried installing apache, mysql, php, etc from source and nothing seemed to ever work right after that....but the rpms always seem to be cool.

Anyway, I need to be able to connect and query from a remote MS SQL server....so help me help me.....

I prefer to use PEAR's database functionality when connecting to anything other than a mysql server...just makes things easier in my opinion. Check out pear.php.net for documentation.
