Animated GIF's

Not sure if a PHP question the answer is proberly JavaScript.
Anyway, i have a window with moving Gif's on. Also there are links that popup another small window, that after viewing can be closed, leaving the parent and original window in view.
all works fine except once a link has been taken the gif images stop moving?
can anyone suggest a way to stop this from occuring.

try, upon closing the popup window, either also changing the focus to the opener window (the page that opened the popup), or you may have reload/refresh the opener. what browser are you using, and does the gif stop once the new window is open, or once the new window is closed, or both?

As soon as the popup opens the Gif's stop and when you close the Popup the Gif's remain static.
I am using I.E 6.
I relise i could reload the original window but i did not want to have to do that really.

an update:
the Gif's work ok in netscape and the onblur = self.focus() does not work .
Someone out there must have had this problem?
please help.

though it looks like it depends on how your javascript code is. i did a test w/ my own popup code and had your same problem in IE6.

it appears to be a 'bug' in the browser.

you may have better luck posting this in a forum for HTML, or JavaScript, or any other forum rather than a PHP help forum, as it's not a PHP question.
