I was an oracle application developer before, we used just oracle stored procedures html and javaScript inside them. I'm just getting into all this free stuff that I have available with Linux and I like web development and I think I really prefer this php way of doing things, but I want to see what people think are the true strengths of this approach. Also, I have been reading some about active server page approaches, mostly python server pages, but this seems stupid and annoying to code. What's the point of this or any other active server page approach, like java server pages??? can you do more like that or can you do everything in php?
