How could i print a random date on set of record?

How can i get random date on each record which i show from a table.

To explain in detail:
I'll show 20 records from a table, the first 7 records shld have todays date and the next 4 records yesterdays date and 8 records day after yesterday and so on until the end of record set.

Any ideas??

mktime()
minus the $rs key value from current value to create passed time.

eg. // setting the rules here
$rs[0] = 5 // five records with today date because minus 0
$rs[1] = 7 // 7 records for yesterday
$rs[2] = 4 // 4 records for yesterday * 2
