htaccess & PHP

does anyone know how to enable PHP on non-extension files?

in httpd.conf you'd use this one:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

maybe it works in htaccess for other extensions, too
(AddType application/x-httpd-php .123)

well, I'm trying to enable PHP on like:

download

not

download.php

or

download.123

I think, mod_rewrite can help you
unfortunately, I'm not (very) familiar with it, you'll find info here:

(I think of appending .php to the file, it would not show in the browser, though)
