[Resolved] mysql, need to export DB.....help?

ok, i posted a little while back about this problem.

I have just registered my new webspace,

www.uk-graffiti.co.uk

and im obviously going to upload everything from my htdocs folder.

the DB currently holds image paths and other image info.
Obviously at the moment, all the paths begin with

http://localhost/

i need to delete this, to make them all absolute links.

Now i heard the best way is to dump the DB to a text file, and do a find&repace...

this sounds fine, BUT....how do i do that
i have phpmyadmin..

could some one give step by step points on how to do this.

bearing in mind i want to keep all the structure and stuff when i import it back in???

export the desired table from phpMyAdmin and choose "export data" or "structure and data" when the table does not yes exist in your new database.
copy the whole result to a text editor and replace any "http://localhost" by whatever you want.
copy the whole thing to your new phpMyAdmin-sql-command-box and run the created query.

dont know if there is an option to export the whole database at once, maybe you'll have to do that for each table. there might be smaller differences depending on the version of phpMyAdmin you are using, just look for the "export" option...

Within the structure of MySQL you will find a directory called data (e.g. /usr/local/mysql/data - I'm assuming you're using Linux!). Within this directory will be a list of directories - these directories are, in fact, your databases.

Within the directory for your database there will be three files (.frm, .MYI, *.MYD) for each of your tables you have defined. These files describe the structure of your table and hold the data itself.

Simply copy the whole database directory to the new data directory on the other server - it's a lot easier than creating a text file, especially if you have a lot of records in your tables.

Ok, i did it.

export in phpmyadmin, then find&replace, then import back in.

very simple.
