What ever happen to AUTHLIB?

I used to use AUTHLIB an object oriented secure library for session and user management. I know that the author posted an update recently (2003-04-07), but can not find it anywhere... What ever happen to it? Anyone knows where I can get a new version or would someone recommend a decent alternative? I pretty much need the following functionality, including registration (requires confirmation), logging in, editing registration details, changing password, changing email (requires confirmation), deleting account, logging out, flushing unconfirmed accounts, flushing unconfirmed emails, password finder, etc.

if you go to sourceforge.net and type in authlib, you will be able to find it. i used to use it but found it was not that secure. i wrote my own little program with the help of many online forums like this one.
