Form Input, Parsing...etc..

Alright, here is a little parsing problem, Now I C&P from a mud, and then put it in a textarea, where it goes through and does approprate things... such as take the name and make it into a variable or whatever... I will show you an example of an identify...

Name: a wreath of fig leaves
Keywords: fig leaves wreath
Value: 0 gold
Type: head

Class: necromancer, wizard, sorcerer, druid, witch, warlock, bishop, prie
stess
Attributes: level 50, intellect 30, wisdom 30

Bonus: hit +3, damage +1, mana +50, spirit +35, intellect +2,
wisdom +2, armor class +3

Everything is all fine and stuff, but... the little "spaces" at the begining of the Name, messes stuff up... I've tried using "trim" and ltrim(), to no avail... How can I take out those spaces without having to manually do it? (because I know its the spaces because I manually removed the spaces and it worked just fine)... Any suggestions?

well if a variable
$name = " a wreath of fig leaves ";

then $name = trim($name);

will result in
$name = "a wreath of fig leaves"

post ure code, there may be an something ure overlooking

Nevermind, That worked, Thanks, I just... um, Going stupid? I dunno, hehe... Thanks for the help, i wasn't reassigning the variable after trimming it. Works now..

ltrim() should work.

Do this:

$text = " These are a few words";
$trimmed = ltrim($text," ");

Above should remove the space in front.
