first of all let me say hi to you people, it's been a while since i last came here, clients just want flash sites these days so i haven't been practicing my PHP, instead i have flash mx open all the time keeping busy for those who pay.

here's the question, i think this might be easy but still i don't know how to do it.

i have a simple table with results from a simple query, one of the fields is the total, the query returns the result DESC by this total, what i want to do is somehow that the first row (item with highest total) is in bold and in a different color, and then the next 10 results, also in bold.

also, is there any possibility to make a little separation from the first one, the next 10 and the rest?

I can think of a few different ways to do it. The easiest I believe is just keep a counter running in your loop, and do some conditional checking on it. Something like this:

$i = 0;
while( $row = mysql_fetch_array($query) {
if ($i == 0 { 
$fontweight = "bold"; 
}
else { 
$fontweight = "normal"; 
} 
echo("<span style=\"font-weight: $fontweight\">$row[fieldname]</span>");
$i++;
}

That's a very simple example... you should get the idea though.
