Keep Frame Title

Not sure if this can be done but here it goes!

You have a frames page with the rows. The top row is blank and the bottom row contains www.yahoo.com.

The title that is in the browser now is what was defined in the frames page.

When you click a link in the yahoo.com page, the title tag is over riden.

What I want is some script that will enable me to keep the title tag that I declared in the browser even when the links have been clicked on.

Is this possible? Thanks!

This is an HTML problem, not PHP. I would suggest that you check out http://www.w3schools.com.

In answer to your question, anytime you specify the title in your frame source page, then that is the title that will stay.

No it doesn't.

I was told by someone that it is possilbe in PHP.

When you click a link in a frames page this title DOES change!!

It is not possible in PHP because the title in the window bar is determined soley by the HTML that is output. This alone takes PHP out of the equation. Now, what browser are you using on what OS. Everytime I have created a frames based page, then I have done what I mentioned above and it showed up fine in MS Windows w/IE5.5+.

Ahh, well your problem is actually in that Yahoo has specifically wrote their links to break out of any frames. Did you notice that when you clicked on the mail link you were navigated completely from your site.

There isn't any way that I know of to get around this.

this is most certainly NOT a PHP problem. this is browser-side, PHP is server-side ONLY.

some browsers change the titles when a subframe changes, some don't. you will probably need to use javascript.
