Sending array values via e-mail

I have a script for an Estate Agents whereby people can add properties they like to a prortfolio and when ready submit a form with their name and e-mail etc which also includes details of the properties they like.

The first code takes a variable (property name) from a previous page and using sessions adds it to all other selected properties and prints them in turn with HTML etc. This bit works fine but I have included it here to show you how it all works...

After this code and the list of properties there is a form at the bottom of the page...

...a form sends the name, email and selected properties to an e-mail address.

This is the problem I am having. How do I send an array of property names via e-mail using the formmail.php program.

Using what you have there, do you get any kind of errors? What exactly is it doing when you hit submit?

You can try changing:

<input type='hidden' name='hiddenField' value='$lin[1]'> 

To this:

<input type='hidden' name='hiddenField' value='$lin[]'>

Before when I submitted the form I got:

name: cvbn
email: [e-mail]
hiddenField: SC040
Submit: Submit

SC040 being one of (and I think the last) of any selected properties.

When I change it to $lin[] it prints:

Parse error: parse error, expecting T_STRING' orT_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in /secure/l/londonorient.com/new/portfolio2.php on line 77

I'm guessing that somehow I need to take all the values out of the array and make them into one long varaible eg,

SC040 SC045 SC067 etc etc

and send that in the form, but how?

Is it some kind of file that stores the info?

Yes. It's a text file and on each line of the text file are details of a property seperated by ','

I explode this to an array on the initial properties page and print the details of each and every property as below using foreach statement.

There was no way round using the text file so I was pretty please to get that working okay. Then they needed a portfolio page so I used sessions to send and add to properties on the portfolio page. Now I need folks to be able to send an e-mail with details of the porperties they have chosen (be this only there code such as SC040 or $lin[1] as the variable becomes.

That didn't work. Just misses the hidden field off.

I'm sure if I can put all the propertys in one varaible even if the variable just read 'SC040SC087SC074' then I could send that varaible. Any ides how to do that? I think also the sessions may be causing problems as everytime I send the form no matter what properties I have chosen it always sends SC040. :-(

It seems like this should be the other way around.

Seems like you should explode the file then do the foreach statement. Also what are you using the anything variable for?
Anyways...to put all the props in one variable, you would need to use the foreach statement again. I believe it would have to be like this:

$hello = file('../xfile.txt'); 
$anything=array_shift($hello); 
$lin = explode('","', $hello); 
foreach($lin as $row)
{
print

That didn't work. It just sends the word Array. :-(

Anymore ideas?
