inserting text into Blob fields with phpMyadmin through a browser

Hi, I'm working on a small project where we don't need a full blown edit/add/delete system yet. Just a simple way to populate the DB for testing purposes... I am trying to enter data into a BLOB field, but it simply won't let me, it says BINARY - do not edit.

I HAVE looked around in the config file for myphpAdmin, and i found some things that appear to allow editing of Blob fields through the broswer, but to no avail.

I am stumped.

this is a feature of the new phpmyadmin versions to make people use TEXT as column feature rather than BLOB or LONGBLOB or whatever 😉

can you try to alter the column property to TEXT ? so you will be able to change/insert/edit the entry.

altering from BLOB to TEXT won't cause any loss of information 🙂

or try the older versions of phpmyadmin ... i'm still using version 2.3.1 and blobs are shown in a textarea 😉
