E-Mail application

Hola,

I would like to know if its possible to test an e-mail application with out a web-hosting service.I write small programs and test them in my pc something like http://localhost/myprograms/.....

For example, i'll design a form(Contact Me) and when i submit the name and the e-mail, i shld get a message to my e-mail or what ever it is.

How shld i do such applications???

if you are using unix system, mail should be installed

I'm quite curious on that one too.. I've written my own mail program but it doesn't seem to work on my own PC ... Do u need a total new program or is it just a setting in PHP.ini or sumthing?
