E-Commerce Internet Credit Card Processing?

I'm trying to find a good company to go with for internet credit card processing. I noticed some really high transfer fees / monthly fees. PayPal is the best prices so far, yet, it kinda confuses customers when they buy something. I checked out 2checkout.com yet that charges 5.5 percent a transaction which is really high, but no monthly fee.

so how does that work does the money get sent to a banking account?

what happens is verisign does the front end processing, making sure the card is valid, and that there are sufficient funds available

then your MERCHANT, something like www.retrieverservices.com, gets the request from verisign and then retriever takes the money from the card and puts it into the bank of your choice

dang so I need a merchant and a credit card processing group? So this in need of 2 companies then correct?

thats ridiculous. 60/monthly I dont want that. Paypal is free per month. I want something similiar to paypal but easier

I do not know why you have a problem with paypal.

I use it with php and mysql with great success on www.netrepsa.com.
