I'm happy to stump up for a domain name and hosting space, but I'm looking for people to write articles for it.

If you're interested, email: techno@piersonthe.net or PM me here.

Right, I've actually started this. It can be found at http://technowiki.piersonthe.net for now. I'll move it over to its own domain at some point.

Click on the Community portal link and see what pages I've thought up so far and what pages have been written. I haven't actually written any at the time of writing of this post, but I will be over the next couple of days.

I might at some point get some google ads on there to help fund the hosting (me at the moment) and the domain name, but I guess I need some content first.

I'm working on a compiled xml layer on top of php, with a MVC framework underneath. I really would like someone with some experience with databases(different ones, not just mysql). I've built an OR/M, but my lack of experience with databases is making me afraid my implementation is lacking.(Obviously, having experience with OR/M's is an extra plus).

Other than that I could use anyone with general coding skills in php. It's assumed you at least understand PHP5's OOP syntax. You don't need to know too much about patterns or design, but it is expected you will learn on your own if you don't.

The current project is focused on creating the backend as well as an application on top of it. Currently the application is a forum, but it may switch to a MMORPG built with ajax depending on how work with the database goes.

I'm asking for help because I don't have time. Moreoever, because I don't want to release anything unless I know there are a few people who actually are capable of maintaining the code besides me.

There is no homepage, but I do have a SVN repo. and trac running on my server. You can contact me about details at <<capiCrimm {@t} gmail [(a) dot] com>> . You can also PM me here, though I check my e-mail more often(firefox Gmail-Manager)

EDIT: This is open-source. I'm not too concerned about the specific liscence. I personally lean towards BSD or GPL. However, the code will not be released under any liscence until at least one person starts commiting to the code.(This is to force my second reason for asking for help).

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some experienced PHP coders for developing an innovative, interactive Web application.

I'm planning on building a Wiki-like system of collaboratively building a fantasy-world (or any fictional world actually). What this entails is that for each fictional world there is a set of "building blocks" that need to be created/written. This includes various features of the world like geography, climate, cities, population, cultures, history, dungeons, gods, stories etc. People can "browse" over the world and look into any area of interest. The original creator of a world can distribute viewing and authoring rights to other users as he wishes.

and here:
http://www.cjgames.com/multimod.html#Living_Campaign

This system will run on a LAMP system using PHP 5 and mySQL 5.
The source code will be published under the GPL but copyright of database content will remain with CJ Games (anyone is free to use the system and create their own system with their own content though).
We also want to use MVC framework like Prado (but are open to other suggestions).
I will deliver the database model (an extensive database with over 100 tables) and also help with the general design of the system.
I am willing to pay for this work although I cannot afford standard commercial rates, so you will have to bring some personal "interest" in getting this kind of project done (it is OS after all).

By the way, I'm looking for good designers, I need a remake of all the graphics in turfwarz. If you're interested, we could form a team. Thanks.

Hey everyone,

Noticed that a few others have done this here so i figured this is as good a place as any.

I'm looking to start a project which goal is to design a internet gamming leage that will cover most recent and older games. I have most of this layed out in my head and would be more then happy to share with thoes interseted in lending a helping hand on this project.

Please either send me a message here or just reply to this message and I will get back to you.

Thanks,
~ROB~

Hey everyone,

Looking for people who would be interested in giving me a hand in the creation of a new gamming league site.

The idea behind this site is to mimic the old star lance (for those of you who were gamers back in the 90's you probably know what I’m talking about). The old star lance was a very big gamming league that covered most if not all games that supported online play.

It was a point based system that allowed team play, 1v1 play, event play, and guild / clan / group play. If you won you got a +1 added to the score and if you were in the clan / guild / team the overall group got some a % of the win to level up the entire group.

Basically the sole purpous was to be the best, win, and get your team or name to the number one spot.

Yes I know this has been done before, and it's currently being done with probably over 100 other sites out there. However they are lacking some features and personal attention that the old star lance brought to the table such as personal team icons, multi game setup, WORKING challenge system, personal team setup (templated), and the list goes on.

So what I'm looking for is some help with the code. Really wood be nice to make it a community project of gamers / coders and bring back a nice competitive gamming site with current day features.

Your thoughts?
Anyone want to help out?

Hello.

I'm looking for a PHP genius to convert 2 games written in a fairly obscure code called Lasso into PHP. Both are fairly simple and quite similar. The questions, answers and resposes are stored in a MySQL database, and points are assigned for correct answers with the game ending after 10 questions. I'll be happy to provide the links to the games and even the Lasso code if you're interested.

Thanks.

At this time I am working on a suitable algorythm which will be able to check a
existant solutions database, based on input parameters from support staff.
The algorythm will search the database based on keywords the user selected. Working solutions are already stored in the database.
But it will also know what steps will exclude or include other possible steps, or what steps
may work. At least, it should be able to learn about the current problems in combination with existing and possible solutions.
At this time there is no source available.
Maybe someone here has seen something similar working. If yes - it would be really interesting to see it.

Hi,

The Vikingboard bullentin project is looking for new skilled PHP developers.

We are today 3 persons working on the project, 2 PHP/SQL developers and 1 deveoper / webdesigner. Our main "problem" is that this is a spare-time project which we dont get paid for, and its therefore a limited time we have to work with it. (and so much we want to do)

This system is planned to be just as good/better as the big soultions avaliable today, as PHPBB/Vbulletin (so on) and have scalability in the main focus. As an example i can mension heavy caching, this means that the board will in later versions be able to run without queries on a few pages (frontpage), and even be operative even if the database is down.

The system today counts 10 000 lines of OOP PHP code ++ and the SQL system is a "generic driver" so it simply can be used with any database system (MySQL is the defaul system). It is therefore important that you have knowledge of OOP PHP coding.

IM me or send me an e-mail at tor.henning AT vikingboard.com if you got any questions or are interested 🙂

Hello there I am looking for someone who wants to be a forum moderator, Im interested in someone who knows a bit of html, php, dreamweaver and mambo... I just finish my website and I have a forum on my website as well. If is about the money than dont try to contact me, because the website is just published and until now I just invested and I will more, maybe in the future, but any way , if someone is happy to cooperate with me on my website than my doors are opened, maybe we could do more than a forum....
Pm for details of leave an email or visit my website for more details
I would love to fine someone because I want to extend the website and alone is a lot of work.
Thank you for your time and dont hesitate to contact me....

Hey all...

This is an improvement over symantecs virus syndication script that is horribly written in JS
URL: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/cgi-bin/syndicate.cgi/

So I took the liberty to write it in PHP:
URL: http://www.ironchefbadass.com/~scripts/av_feed/?d=1

written for PHP5+... the original JS script allowed for reporting other items like tools and other alerts, but since I only used the virus portion, thats all I coded for; although expanding the code to add that would be trivial.

contact me via PM here if you have any questions or comments

Not really a money making scheme, but a way to meet other developers, learn more and have fun.

the idea is that the more people we get the bigger it can become, thus making a monster of a application which can be combined with many scripting or programming languages if others have aquired other programming skills.

my language is php, i have only been using it for around 6-7 months so my ideas out weight my skill.

Spread the word and lets start planning it, my original idea was to combine online shopping with online gaming. I thought alot about it and would like to discuss.

msn = tbobker@hotmail.com

look forward to hearing from people.

p.s remember not really interested in making money, only learning and creating something incredible.
