Needing your advice...

My customer's ERP exports CSV files with his products data that I'll use with a php CMS, however I'm doubtful what's the best way to extract its data. Should I extract from CSV directly or is better to import it into MySQL then
extract its data??? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each method???

I'd load the data into MySQL first. Why bother with reading through a flat file when you can use a tool that is optomized for data retrieval?

If you use just the CSV then you will have to build all the tools you will need to get your data, if its inside MySQL the tools to get the data are already done and all you have to do is worry about the logic of your program.
