Auto Increment

are you supposed to specify

“not null auto_increment,”

or does auto_increment take care of the not null to begin with.

Due to the fact that not null will not allow you to insert a null value into a column for auto_increment to see and generate a value.

Or am I just strait up wrong.

It's usually just there for good measure. No matter what you try to put into that field, it should increment to the next value.
