imap_open problem

Hi,

I facing an error in my script and I can't find it 🙁. Please help :

//open mailbox

$host ="pop.url.com";
$user="bounce";
$pass="bounce";

$inbox=@imap_open ("{".$host.":110}",$user,$pass);

$total=imap_num_msg($inbox);

echo "total ".$total;
?>

Your open script needs to be

imap_open("{ server : port }MAILBOX","user","pass");

making yours

<?php 

//open mailbox 

$host ="pop.url.com"; 
$user="bounce"; 
$pass="bounce"; 
$protocol = "IMAP";
$port="110";

$inbox=@imap_open ("{$host/$protocol:$port}INBOX",$user,$pass); 

$total=imap_num_msg($inbox); 

echo "total ".$total; 
?>

I have tried. Still not working. Can it be anything to do with mail server parameter or permissions?

Did you take my last answer and just copy it ?

If so - you would need to change the Protocol to POP3...

IMAP = port 143
POP3 = port 110

Check if it is an SSL connection to the server as well, cos that is a different port again (993 I think) - plus you need to state that in the script...
$mbox = imap_open ("{localhost:993/POP3/ssl}INBOX", "user_id", "password");

Something like that anyway...
