[Resolved] function error

I keep getting, call to undefined function payment error.

Why?

This is guess only ...

The 'if' condition in your function means that sometimes nothing gets returned.

why not try if{ ... } else { return false; } in the function and see if that works.

im assuming that all this is on one page ??
shouldnt matter but try putting the function defination at the top of the page

I don't think it's reading the function wrong. I think it's just not finding the function at ALL!

I can't understand why it wouldn't be able to find it.

I tried putting the whole code inside the <? ?> tags, but that didn't work either.

I'm a little puzzled. Has to be something stupid 🙂

I don't see the problem neither... mybe there's some <? already open? did u check the raw output whether there's some php code left untouched by the parser?? plz post the whole page....

YES! it's all on the same page.

Your suggestion about putting it at the top worked.

What would cause that?

Script is parsed sequentially from the top. The function needs to be declared before it is called.

hmmm. I don't believe this is entirely true. I usually put all my functions and classes at the bottom of my pages so as not to clutter everything.

It works fine except for as in this problem.

Subsequentially, yes. But I don't think this applies to functions. Can anyone verify?
