Removing text out of database that include "

hey..

I'm trying to work out a way to remove the following out of the database after I grab it..

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Untitled Document</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body>

But that stuff includes " and well, when I try to use

$text = strtr($text, "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Untitled Document</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body>", "");

It sure won't work....

How do I do this?

doesn't work... tried that.

I forgot to paste what the text looks like once on screen:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
 <html>
 <head>
 <title>Untitled Document</title>
 <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
 </head>
 
 <body>

you see the formatting? it means it has /n .. "hidden" brake lines.. for easy formatting.
