Help with formatting data in Word/Excel Thru PHP

I am trying to create reports thru PHP and My SQL. I was wondering if i can create these formatted reports in Word/Excel using PHP. Has anyone worked on this or has any idea on how to tackle it? Please help!!!

well if you don´t maind i'm will ask if any one now how to do the oposite... i.s. from a xls file insert data into a mysql using php
