main(): stream does not support seeking

My host upgraded or recompiled PHP or something, and now I get this error:

Warning: main(): stream does not support seeking in /home/libertar/public_html/X.php on line Y

all over the place, in my pages. It looks like it's wherever there is an "include" in the PHP code.

Any idea what might be happening? I know I can put an @ in front of all the includes, but that's pretty lame, and a lot of work too.

I bugged my host about it for a while and I think they just modified some settings to remove warnings or something. It went away in any case, so I stopped worrying about it.

I was talkin to my tech guys on my webhost and they said they had just installed Zend, and sure enough on hte phpinfo, it says the config is the new Zend one, so I dont know if this is default in the newest version of PHP, or if its just specific to this Zend compile. I dont know they are lookin at the config, and are gunna see if they can disable the warning... 😕

I know this wont help the amount of work to correct but.....

most likely the problem is because of an include using "http://....."

use the actual server name instead and it will not issue the warning.

so

INCLUDE '/home/libertar/public_html/includedfile.php';
or
INCLUDE 'includedfile.php';

instead of
INCLUDE 'http://includedfile.php';

Yea, I just figured out after a bit that the file structure was now simple enought that I could hard code it in with the filename directly (thru ../blah.php) and it worked.

But thanks, I will use the full path in the future instead of a url inlcude

If your host has error messaging toggled on, you might get that message for offiste includes. I have a series of domains and like to use includes from one on many of them, so the solutions offered here won't help, as I still need

<? include('http.... etc

For whatever reason, the addition of

<? @include('http.... etc

.. supresses the error message.

I have this same problem... Though the code opens the right page, it tells me that there was an error on that line:
