I saw one gamer's machine: case rusted through ... hard drive hanging out the side on a length of ribbon cable, held on with duct tape ... carried it by its chassis ... cracked and discoloured fascia ... small burn mark around one hole where an LED used to be ... Scroll Lock key missing ... DIY space bar made with a bundle of glued-together popsicle sticks.
Bloody powerful machine, too.
I also recall his making a small network - the motherboards were pegged to clotheslines. Dunno how well it ran.
