How to execute a java file using PHP

PLease help me.

I have installed a JAVA chat program in my server. Before starting chat , the server must be run

like "java startserver".

For this i have to open telnet and run the above command

It is possible so that that the above command is automatically executed when users opens the chat window.

My site is in PHP/Mysql

you can use the php function exec() to run console commands via php...

PLease help me to debug this code. It is not working
