what username & password should i use for localhost?

hi all,

i use phpdev423 to do loads of testing locally and this time, i am testing out a php script which uses mysql for the database. however, I need to supply a username and password, but what username/password should i use for localhost? i have used phpmyadmin to create a database called guestbook and the script only needs to create 1 table inside of the db if thats any help.

Well you will need to use the username and password for MySQL that you set when you installed it.

If you didnt set any password then
username: root
password: <blank>
should work

you can see php.ini or my.cnf file. they generally have this in there as well

that connects to the db ok, but cant create the tables though.
