sessions enabled?

how would one check if the user's browser has sessions enabled?

Someone showed me how to check if cookies are enabled.. but they also told me that if cookies are disabled .. the browser can still have sessions enabled..

so what would be the proper procedure to check if the user's browser has sessions enabled?
