This is a hard one ?

Hello !

I have a page called index.php
sitting at
/var/www/html

with this code;

<? phpinfo(); ?>
</body>
</html>

ONLINE it works perfect !!
but locally
It gives no reading at all, no info, no error messages!

One would say that PHP is not installed .
but I also have phpMyAdmin running php-nuke and coppermine photo galery.
in the same directory..
/var/www/html
So How come they work

I use RH 8 and apache and mysql all work fine but what can I do to fix this php Problem

does any body have an idea ?

Change:
<? phpinfo(); ?>

to:

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

It shouldn't really matter, but give it a try.

this works !
I had the same problem with

<? include("menu.php"); ?>

so I did the same thing
like this

<?php include("menu.php"); ?>

and it works now :-)

A question remains
I checked the previous code online and under Win2000 < easyphp>
and it works
Now I guess ill try this latest code online and see if it works there

Well the thing is your web server seems to treat code that starts with <?php ?> as php code, whereas the other webserver seems to be treating <? ?> as php code. It's a matter of configuration.

I noticed that my web server has PHP4.3.1

and I have
PHP4.2.2

could this be the reason
?
