Regular Expressions & Security

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good examples of regular expressions in regard to security (making sure that users don't enter php code, etc into the fields). Also, any tutorials on regular expressions for email addresses, postal codes (not zip codes), just numbers, just letters, would be nice. Thanks.
