This forum has been my savior numerous times, before I ask my question I want to thank each and everyone including the folks who came up with this site for providing a way for me to get help, we all know that books don't often answer all the questions. Now on to my question.

Is there away in PHP to expire a page, for example I want to allow a client to see a page only for a certain period, after which I no allow them access to the page. Thanks

Is it relative to a certain time or not? i.e. Will only be viewable until July 4 or 10 min after the page loads initially? Probably a stupid question, but worth asking I guess...

You're best of looking into sessions - cookies are often disabled by the user.

Like the previous post ask - is it X minutes after they log on or a specfic date in the future?

Here's an example: Lets say you want it to be "invisible" or not viewable after July 4. You would use the time() function to calculate the current time at the page load. You would then take the number of seconds from Jan 1, 1970 until July 4, which would be 1057276800 (Caclulated at http://www.spiders.com/portfolio/demos/countdown/index.jsp) seconds. So you then do a comparison:
if (time()>1057276800)
{ echo "This page is no longer viewable"; }
else
{ echo "This page is viewable"; }

Hope that helps. You can just go to the above link if you need any dates, its pretty usefull.

you can also use this which is a bit more programmer friendly.

if( time() > strtotime( '2003-06-04' ) )
