Problem Displaying Paragraphs

Hello guys, I have problem displaying the format of my paragraph data.

Here is the details, I have a table that contains details about my self. And of course there are several nos. of my details, when I try to retrieve my details the data dont display as what I typed. It displays continiously. example is this: instead of displaying it by no.
1. detail 1
2. detail 2
3. detail 3

it displays it like this:

1. detail1 2. detail 2 3. detail 3

how do i retreive my data just like what I type?

You can either put HTML formatting in the details (end it with a <P> tag)

or you can do something like

<?PHP echo $detail 1; 

"<P>"

 <?PHP echo $detail 2 ?> 

"<P>"

 <?PHP echo $detail 3; ?>

the problem is that the data is on "1" field only. so if i encoded my details it will be store on that field only. so on my sql statement it will select all data on that field.

and the problem is how do i separate paragraphs on that field because it displays continiously.

You must put HTML formatting tags in your text fields if you watn them to echo out with paragraph breaks.

Em ... yeah ... but this isn't a PHP problem. I suggest you have a look at some books or online tutorials on PHP/HTML, which will show you how to integrate PHP with HTML. It's very easy.

<p>this is detail one about myself</p><p>this is detail 2 about myself</p><p>this is detail three about myself</p> etc etc

put that in the field, then you should be able to just echo it and it will format for you
this is detail one blah blah blah blah
this is detail two blah blah blah

or if you wanted them in a list
1. detail 1
2. detail 2
3. detail three

put this in the db field
<ol><li>this is detail one</li><li>this is detail two</li><li>this is detail three</li></ol>

btw, you don't really have to close the <li> tags for html, but for properly formatted xhtml you do.
