WOW!!! One of the guys I work with managed to crash notepad. All it had was about 8 lines in and each line had about 4 words.
Just shows that even the simplest of programs can fail.

I don't know. He doesn't know.
No the text wasn't very long at all. It's happened to him a couple of times in the last hour.
Oh well, he goes on holiday tonight, and when he comes back, he'll have a nice new copy of WinXP (currently 98) so that should keep him happy.
notepad had famous Dr Watson kinda features in 98... used to crash it quite often myself (involves DLL versions and some other stuff not directly related to notepad though)
Hey - I managed to crash windows the other day....
Oh yeah - happens every day... D'oh...
Oh, crashing windows is nothing. I do that all the time. This guy managed to crash notepad!
Yeah I know... was just making a sleight on all M$ products in general....
Windoze '98 is about the worst excuse for an OS I have ever used. 2000 Pro is actually pretty decent. Does anyone know who it was that said something like, "The only way Microsoft will make something that doesn't suck is if they start making vacuum cleaners."
"I say I say I say, the day that Microsoft make something that doesn't suck is the day that they start making vacuum cleaners"

If the first character in a "text" file is a backspace, that can cause grief...
Then again, IE can apparently be crashed by serving up
<html><head></head><input type></html>
NotePad??
I thought the almighty "NOTEPAD" was indestructable.. Oh well..
Notepad crashes all the time for me, claims I have unicode in it when I don't, and usually closes without saving the "unicode" document.

You'd have a hard time crashing my computer. I'ts a P4 1.6GHz with 1 gig of RAM. I've used 100% RAM and 100% CPU multiple times and it'll still run fine (obviously not during...).
Do you use windows?

Managed to destroy this Win2K installation at work... don't know how, wouldn't boot windoze completely - continual diskcheck and restart... LOL
Good job I don't have a job in the IT dept..
What kid in the neighborhood hasn't broken a few Windows & reg ; heh
