adding new member w/auto increment + alphabetical order

Hello,

This question sounds dumb to me and I don't even know the answer...

I have a form that allows new members to enter their info into a member db table. When they submit the info, the record auto increments, assigning an id number. I have a member directory that displays the records. It is split into pages displaying 30 records on each page using the id number...

How can I get the records to display in alphabetical order by company name while also using the id number to refer to the member info page?

well order in your query ...

example :
select * from tablename order by company_name ASC

I know this is a really stupid question. Maybe this is a pagination problem. If I have one page that retreives all the records at once then perhaps that would work. However I currently have separate pages retreiving 30 records at a time... If I make one page that retreives all at once, would that solve the problem?

post your code, it shouldnt make a differance cause the query is the same just with limits
however i wont really know till i take a look at your code.
if im not wrong u want to order by company name right ??

i meant the whole code for the page, the part where the pagination bit is done - where do generate the next and previous links
