Not sure what I am doing wrong

Hello, I have a web page with four different pages.

1st is the index.php page

2nd contactus.php page

What I want to do is open the index.php page and then click on the link to contact us and have it open in the index.php page. I hope I am saying this right. Here is the example of what I am trying to do for the link.

Would this be the right way to have it call into the same page?

that is a correct link, but then in the index page you will need:

if(action=$contactus) {

echo "contact info":

}

else {

echo "index content";

}

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '='

try action=contactus instead of action=$contactus

I tried both ways and still getting the same error. Let me post some more of the code:

Thanks again for the help. I would think this would work but just having the problem of getting it to open the new page, if I click on one of the links it just keeps opening the index.php page and not the others.

Hi!

You should use includes to add another pages content into index.php

try something like this;

$get_action = @$_GET['action'];

switch($get_action)
{
case "contactus":
include("contactus.php");
break;
}

crosbystillsnas, I got errors doing that way.

Xoid, nothing happened. The page came up but still same results with only bring up the index.php page. I had this site designed for me and he has it working fine on his server but mine for some reason will not take it the same way. I always had used includes but for some reason he didn't. Not sure what to try next.

pay attention to the line echo "contact info"; !!!
end it with ';' not ':'

well... there is nothing wrong with that code, maybe your version of PHP? it works fine on my system 🙁

using includes is a good way, i.e. include("includefile.php"),
obviously don't use includes with ".inc" as these files can be viewed as regular text files 🙁

do you get any errors message with the code I posted?
