I suspect that not all wave file formats are allowed in php. Can someone tell me how I can find this out? Is there a list somewhere?

the files will not play for some reason unless I make the format 8.000 and 8 bit mono.
how do use php code to play a .wav file, i thought it was the browser that launches a player ??
