Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help me. You see, I have a virus and its in a DLL and the virus won't be removed. I can't just delete the DLL because it might be important for other programs. The Dll is A0169467.dll. Would any of you know what that one is used for. I typed it in all kinds of search engines and I got no results. Thank you so much.

If you have an infected .dll and you can't clean it with Norton or another AV, you might as well delete the .dll even if some program needs it. You don't want to keep a virus infected file on your computer, at least I wouldn't want to 🙂

You can always reinstall whatever software it is that needs the .dll in question, or search for .dll download sites where you may be able to recover the single file in question.

I've never heard of the .dll you posted and it's nowhere in my XP Pro system folders.

Sounds pretty bogus to me. Most filenames have something to do with their function, especially dynamic link libraries.

If it's part of the OS, you should easily be able to reinstall that particular .dll --- even Win98 had this capability through 'sfc'... I believe that XP will do it automatically, at bootup...

If it's part of an app, Doug G is pretty well right...reinstall the thing if it's borken....

Just delete it if it lets you, it's just the virus. Windows' DLLs, as stated above, will be named after a purpose.
