just a quick poll/question
i cant seem to get mysql to run on win 2k server for more than 5 reboots whatever i try(needs a complete re-inatll to work again). ive searched this and other forums but the problems persists.
Are you using Apache or IIS on Win2k? One of my servers runs Win2k pro with Apache & Mysql and it runs without any problems at all. I never have and never will use IIS - Apache is your friend 🙂
apache is a very good friend of mine too, i used to use iis but apache is so much better. i have heard that service pack 3 causes some problems with mysql, maybe a re-install without that???

Win2k Pro SP3 Apache 1.3.26 PHP 4.2.3 MySQL 3.23.52
for several months with absolutely no problems at all. What setup did you have with SP3 that caused you the problems?
The place where I work runs MySQL on w2k both on our testing server and webserver where we host about 30 sites and there have been no problems at all.

thats the same as my setup except im running 2k server. ive installed and re-installed my server about 5-8 times and everytime it get this error
Well... I would say it has to be either the server itself at fault (have you tried running win2k server for any length of time without apache/mysql/php etc installed?) or perhaps the installation of apache/mysql/php. I use a triad system for my web server on win2k pro and it works like a dream - all configuration is auto (apart from httpd.conf of course) - maybe you should try it.
