DSL Service?

Does anyone know if it's possible for me to make a script that scans a certain amount of phone numbers and checks to see if dsl is available for that #? For instance, 123-0000 to 123-9999? I obviously would need to check some database, but I don't know if there are companies out there that give you access to that type of information.

Does anyone have any experience doing something like that?

You'd probably have to go with your DSL provider's info. Like if Qwest is the CO, only they'll have the DB of their service areas. Not every CO is DSL capable.

I've never done anything like what you want to do, but I do have DSL and know that I was told by my ISP that I could get DSL but when I moved in I found out their facility didn't support it at the time. Although, the Cyber-cafe across the street has DSL.

So it's a tough one from what I can gather. Half the time the phone company doesn't even know.

Thanks for the reply jstarkey, but the problem is that I work for an ISP, and they asked me to make something like that for them.

I can probably create something by taking a look at how another local company checks phone numbers and just link to their script with the correct variables, but I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me checking 100's or 1000's of numbers in a loop. hehe.
