heheh... not sure if you are joking, but in case you aren't, IMO stands for in-my-opinion. He's saying notepad works fine.

So far, I have found primal script and Zend studio to be the best. Maybe it'll offend a few, but you are a fool to use notepad as your editor. It can save tons of time and hair pulling using a program that color codes syntax. Zend does a great job of automatically highlighting what bracket you are in as well. They also provide easy organization of projects, and many other features. Dreamweaver is my 3rd choice for an editor, but still a good program.

Anyway, there is no reason to use notepad since there decent free programs available as well.

I haven't tried Zend, but I use DW alot so it's a favorite (ever since version 3). Color coding is definitely handy in any programmign though.

I used to use DWMX (and utlra dev before that) exclusively. I find primal script to be superior in many regards. Zend puts them both to shame, but it is slow and laggy at times. You get quirks in every program.

Yeah, that's true. I will have to check out some different editors since I am finally getting back in PHP.

I use J from Armed Bear, it does a good job with the little extra features like syntax highlighting and which set of brackets you are in. And best of all, it's FREE and it works on Solaris... that's my number one reason for using it.
