Experience with THEOS?

Hey guys, this is so OT ---

A client has purchased an app for office management; the server runs on THEOS.

This client told me today that one of the employees would begin utilizing the server for day to day work, instead of a Windoze machine.

This employee will likely die without IE and OE, and my research into THEOS tells me that it's a little on the stone age side of things. (Like, is there a Mozilla port? 🙂 ) So I'm trying to think how best to break the news that they really should have me build them another Windoze box....

Anybody else know jack about THEOS?

I know of AtheOS, never heard of THEOS.

Well, it's early 70's development, originally known at OASIS, and it's being pushed as a secure, multi-user, low-machine overhead business app OS.

I'd never quite think it the right thing, but this client finds the software to be good value for their needs. Only thing, as I mention, is whether THEOS is too dinosaurish to run "X" or something like it...'cuz this lady doesn't understand much about win98, much less any CLI mail client, etc., etc.,

Whaddya know about AtheOS? Looks like a good idea, but nobody's on board, to me...in contrast, THEOS is up and running, but not Open Source, and something of an enigma as a result...interesting similarity of names, but then, the last two letters are pretty predictable... :rolleyes:

Yeah, I've been wanting to give AtheOS a spin on one of my test machines for a while, but it still looks like the hardware support isn't at a stage where I'd want to spend any time bothering with it.
