Search solution

Hello,

I build a web site for all dog lovers (www.dogsite.ro ). Until now the search works only for web directory submited links. But now I want to enlarge the search capabilities, so the visitor can search through the downloads, breeds and articles sections. I use a database table for each of these categories.

I need some solutions for this upgrade of my site.

I don't know what db you have or how it is structured but take a look at FULLTEXT search capabilities in its manual.

Database is MySQL.

Actualy, for the web directory I have 2 tables: categories and links. So the search works now by selecting the information which look LIKE the keywords submited. The selection is now from the links table joining the categories table. This way the category which the link is part of could be printed.
