i am assuming this is so u can estimate how much things are for projects you bid on and things you want to pursue... sorry if i assumed to much, that's the way it sounded.
um, setting up project timelines and costs of the project isn't something a program can do. it is calculated by individual status.
example:
a programmer that can do something in 5 minutes that takes someone else 3 days to do, shouldn't be paid the same as the second person.
and if u think about that if programmer a can do that much work in 5 minutes.. if u set the time line out for 40 hours. the second person would have like 1 page and the first programmer would have a flash/mysql/perl/php/asp/java page that is way better.
so, to make it easier for you. u need to think about the project yourself. how fast can u do what they are asking? how much do you know, how much will you have to learn? can you do it all yourself? are you going to need a graphics designer or will ur own work suffice? can you find answers to problems on your own quickly and effeciently or will you be stumped and getting nothing done for days?
these are things i try to ask myself if someone asks me to do something for them. i don't want to cheat them if i can't do the work better then other people for the price i ask.
keeping all this in mind, i generally try to keep the cost up so i'm making 15-20 dollars an hours (this is much lower then a lot of people) and if i tell them i can have it done in 1 week (40 hours)
that's 800 bucks for a week of work. not horribly bad. however most likely you'll be working on the project longer then 40 hours (during that week). so just think about what you can do, how long you yourself thinks it will take you, and be completely honest with them.
