Help with a calculation

Hello,

I need help with a problem. At work were creating a timesheet tracker system. The problem I have run into is that they want to total the number of hours by date. For example:

For example: 2003-06-21 7.5
2003-06-21 5
2003-06-22 2

I need this to look like this:
2003-06-21 12.5
2003-06-22 2

Instead of this, which is what I'm getting:

                            2003-06-21      7.5
                            2003-06-21      12.5
                            2003-06-22      17.5

I need it to take a date and total the hours for that date. Not total everything. Any ideas????

so u'r saying, show total hours up to the day before the current day, then show total hours for the day you're on?

for example

mon 5 hours
tue 3 hours
wed 10 hours
thur 6 hours

so in the time tracker dealy.. if today was thur

it would show

wed total hours: 18
thur 6 hours

or something to that effect?

if ur pulling it from mysql u just have to do something like:

select * from date field where date is between mon and wed or whatever u'r doing.. that way it adds up those dates.. then select thurs date or w/e

u'r question is very vague btw, if this isn't what u were thinking, edit ur question 🙂
